Join Loco por la Aventura for a Unique Indoor Climbing and Dance Therapy Experience!

About Us: Loco por la Aventura is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring educational equity and promoting engagement in outdoor activities within the Latino community. Our mission is to motivate, advocate for educational justice, and encourage active participation in outdoor adventures tailored specifically for the Latino community.

Event Description: We invite you to an evening filled with physical activity and fun, combining an indoor climbing session with dance therapy. This event is designed for everyone, regardless of your experience level in climbing or dancing.

Event Details:

  • Date and Time: Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Location: Movement, 1405 NW 14th Ave, Portland, OR Movement

Event Agenda:

6:30 PM – 7:15 PM: Indoor Climbing Session

Designed for all participants, with little or no climbing experience.

Learn basic climbing skills, indoor climbing techniques, and proper descending methods.

7:15 PM – 8:00 PM: Dance Therapy with María Teresa Lopes

Enjoy a vibrant mix of salsa, merengue, reggaetĂłn, bachata, and flamenco.

A 45-minute session led by experienced instructor MarĂ­a Teresa Lopes.

8:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Networking and Closing

Opportunity to socialize and share experiences with other participants.

Important Details:

  • Pre-Registration: Complete the Movement waiver form before your arrival: Click on Movement Waiver.
  • Watch the safety video and sign the waiver.
  • Required Equipment: All climbing equipment will be provided.
  • Dress Code: Comfortable athletic attire that allows freedom of movement.
  • Photography and Video: Photos and videos will be taken during the event for promotion and content on Loco por la Aventura’s social media, newsletters, and website. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know in advance.

Recommendations:

  • Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Arrive 20 minutes early for registration and preparation.

Languages: Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether they speak Spanish. Some sessions may be bilingual. Our goal is to create a diverse and welcoming community for all.

🎟️ Full Day Indoor Climbing Pass – $17.00 + $2.98 fee (Includes unlimited climbing access for the day, all rental gear – shoes, harness, chalk bag – and bilingual instruction if needed)

Financial Assistance: If you need financial assistance to attend the event, contact us at info@locoporlaaventura.com to request a scholarship.

Event Rules:

  • Follow the instructors’ directions at all times.
  • Consumption of alcohol or illicit substances is not permitted during the event.
  • Participation is open to individuals aged 18 and over. Children aged 6 and above must be accompanied by their guardians. (A signed waiver is required before participation.)
