Autumn is my favorite season of the year, especially because this time is perfect for dozens of outdoor activities thanks to its cool weather—not too hot or too cold.
Additionally, autumn is usually very picturesque (at least in this part of the United States), as you get to witness the leaves on the trees change from a radiant green to yellow, orange, and finally red.
That’s why I want to share with you my five favorite activities to fully enjoy this wonderful time of year. I hope you feel inspired to try them!
1. Camping
Autumn turns camping into a magical experience. Setting up a tent among the changing colors of the trees and enjoying cool nights around the campfire is undoubtedly one of my favorite activities. Just remember to bring a good coat and sleeping bag, as temperatures drop significantly at night.
2. Hiking
Exploring new trails on foot is exciting any time of the year, but I must admit that autumn makes it visually even more appealing. Walking along trails surrounded by fallen leaves and forests painted in warm tones, all while enjoying the cool weather, is an absolute delight. Don’t miss the chance to do it! Just be prepared with a windproof jacket and waterproof repellent, as rain can appear without warning in autumn.
3. Rock Climbing
Climbers can enjoy their sport 365 days a year, but if you ask them what their favorite season to climb outdoors is, most will likely say autumn—and I totally agree with them.
Outdoor climbing is one of the sports most enjoyed in autumn, thanks to the cool weather. When climbing, your body heats up quickly, and so does the rock. However, autumn’s climate is perfect for counteracting that overheating, allowing you to fully enjoy the activity for hours.
So, if you’re thinking of trying outdoor climbing, take advantage of this season.
4. Mountain Biking
Like climbing, mountain biking is one of those activities that becomes very popular in autumn.
In this sport, between the calorie burn and the adrenaline, your body heats up easily. That’s why autumn’s cool weather is a great ally for those who practice it.
5. Photography Excursions
I’m passionate about photography, and autumn offers unique opportunities to capture nature at its finest. From macros of fallen leaves to landscapes with vibrant colors, autumn is a paradise for photographers.
Autumn is a season that awakens my adventurous and creative spirit. Every year, mountain biking, climbing, camping, hiking, and exciting photography excursions become my travel companions. These activities allow me to deeply connect with nature and capture the ephemeral and beautiful essence of autumn.
