ADuring the summer, I love making the most of the good weather and enjoying exciting outdoor activities. There are many wonderful options to choose from, but today I want to share with you five of my favorite activities for this season.
1. Kayaking or Paddle Boarding
One of my favorite summer activities is kayaking or paddle boarding. Paddling on a calm lake or in the ocean is an experience that fills me with tranquility and excitement. Feeling the cool breeze on my face as I glide across the water allows me to relax and connect with nature. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to stay active and explore beautiful places that are only accessible by kayak or paddle board.
2. Rafting
Rafting is one of those summer activities that’s full of adrenaline—and you’re guaranteed to get wet!
Rafting, known in Spanish as descenso de ríos or balsismo, is a sport and recreational activity that involves traveling down a river in the direction of the current, usually on some type of boat or raft.
Typically, the rivers navigated for rafting have some degree of turbulence to make the activity more exciting.
This year, we’re organizing a rafting event on the Maupin River. If you want to join us, don’t think twice and sign up here.
3. Camping
Camping is one of the most popular ways to connect with nature in the summer. It involves spending one or more nights in a tent, camper, or caravan to enjoy nature or as part of a trip or excursion.
There are designated places for camping, known as campgrounds, which can be near a river, beach, mountain, or any natural attraction.
Camping is seen as an adventurous and highly educational activity because you get to do your everyday tasks—like eating and sleeping—in pristine nature. Thanks to the lack of technology and internet, you get to maximize your creativity to have fun and do things for yourself.
Camping gives you the opportunity to explore new places, go hiking, and discover stunning landscapes. It’s the perfect all-in-one experience.
If you’d like to go camping with us, don’t forget to sign up for our Camping Gateway 2023.
4. Hiking
Hiking is not only fun and relaxing but also very healthy for the body and mind.
It allows you to enjoy panoramic views, breathe fresh air, and experience the peace and tranquility that only nature can provide.
Nowadays, there are thousands of hiking trails around the world, from short and easy ones to longer or more challenging routes. No matter the difficulty you choose, what’s important is that you enjoy the adventure.

5. Surfing
Surfing is a sport of Hawaiian origin that involves riding ocean waves while standing on a board pushed by the swell.
Surfing is a challenging sport that requires patience and dedication, but once you manage to catch your first wave, trust me, you’ll feel an indescribable sense of freedom.
Surfing is usually practiced on beaches with strong waves, and before trying it for the first time, it’s a good idea to consult with an expert and, of course, know how to swim.
Without a doubt, summer offers a wide range of exciting outdoor activities to enjoy.
Whether you choose kayaking or paddle boarding, rafting, camping, hiking, or surfing, each of these activities will provide a unique experience and allow you to connect with nature, enjoy the good weather, and create unforgettable memories.
And you—what activity would you add to this list?
