The Osprey Firn 28 Pack is Osprey's answer to the needs of intrepid ski mountaineers. With its vest-inspired design, the pack keeps the load close to your body, creating stability as you pick your way through a rocky choke point. For nutrition, hydration, or navigational devices, two stretch pockets and a single zippered pocket are present on the shoulder straps, allowing you to access needed items on the go. Other exterior storage includes a stretch pocket, a gear loop on the waist strap, and a crampon pocket giving you access to your most essential gear without removing the pack. The quick ski carry features a ski lasso that can be used ambidextrously and doesn't require pack removal to be used. An HDPE framesheet provides enough support for needed mountaineering essentials but can be easily removed to make the pack more pliable or to reduce weight.
