An essential piece of gear for any mountaineer, the SMC I snow picket can be used to make an anchor while you belay across snow bridges or move through steep sections on glaciated peaks.
- I snow picket has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and a practical design for ease of handling and packing
- In hard-packed snow or ice, place the picket as a stake by driving the pointed end in; sharp end is precision tapered for easy placement
- In softer snow and warming conditions, you can bury the picket to make a deadman anchor
- Edges of the clip-in holes are beveled to protect ropes and webbing from sharp edges
- SMC I snow picket is available in either 24 in. or 36 in. lengths
