Hello everyone!
We are incredibly excited to share with you how the launch of my first book, “Nobody Achieves What They Don’t Dare” —the first guide in Spanish on basic climbing and mountaineering techniques in the United States—went. Last Thursday, December 7, we officially celebrated this achievement with an evening full of excitement and adventure.
The event took place at Arc’teryx Portland, one of the top outdoor clothing brands that has accompanied us on our journeys. At 6:30 pm, we kicked off the night with over 130 attendees who joined us to show their support, learn the story behind the book, and, of course, get their copy with a special dedication!
During the evening, we immersed ourselves in the opportunity to meet new friends, offered our Loco por la Aventura merchandise (check out our store!), and, of course, put the book in the spotlight. What’s a party without treats? We spoiled everyone with cheese boards, vegan empanadas courtesy of El Salto, and a selection of handmade sweets—all with a taste of Venezuela!
We were accompanied by photographer friends and the team from Metroeast Community Media, who captured every moment in a special video of the event, including interviews.
I had the opportunity to share a bit about my experiences as a mountaineer and climber from my beloved Venezuela and expeditions around the world, as well as what we have planned for Loco por la Aventura in 2024, answering questions and curiosities from the audience.
The toast was special, and how could it not be, with our two favorite drinks that have accompanied us all of 2023! We are immensely grateful to Santa Teresa and Guayaki for being part of our great adventures.
The night was full of surprises: gifts for everyone, and raffles sponsored by Arc’teryx,Guayaki, and other allies who have supported us along our journey. We want to express our gratitude to all the organizations and companies that made this event possible, especially Arc’teryx Portland, Guayaki, and Santa Teresa.
A huge thank you also to every volunteer who supported us with logistics, and of course, to each of you who joined us and celebrated this significant achievement!
Thanks to the success of this launch, we are excited to officially announce that in 2024, we will be touring the United States so more people can learn about “Nobody Achieves What They Don’t Dare” live and in person. We already have confirmed dates in Houston and Utah, but stay tuned to our calendar because we will soon confirm additional locations.
